The 40 Under 40 Health Equity Trailblazers award recognizes and celebrates the next generation of leaders who are driving transformative change in the pursuit of health equity. This prestigious honor is bestowed upon 40 exceptional individuals under the age of 40 who are actively working to dismantle systemic barriers, innovate solutions, and create a more just and equitable healthcare system for all.

These trailblazers represent a diverse group of change agents, including clinicians, researchers, public health professionals, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and community advocates. Through their vision and tireless efforts, they are bridging gaps in care, addressing the social determinants of health, and ensuring that all communities have the opportunity to thrive.

Award Criteria

​

Nominees will be judged based on the following criteria, with a focus on their impact and leadership:

​

  • The nominee has developed or implemented a new program, technology, or initiative that has demonstrably improved health outcomes or reduced health disparities within a specific community.

​

  • The nominee has shown exceptional leadership in advocating for policies, practices, or resources that promote health equity on a local, regional, or national level.

​

  • The nominee has a proven track record of collaborating with and empowering communities to address their unique health needs and challenges.

​

  • The nominee's work has inspired others and has the potential for scalable, long-term impact in the field of health equity.

​

  • The nominee's work demonstrates a strong commitment to ethical principles, cultural competency, and addressing historical injustices in healthcare.

​

Nominee Eligibility

​

  • Must be 40 years of age or younger as of the nomination deadline.

​

  • Must be a resident of the United States.

​

  • Individuals from all sectors (e.g., nonprofit, for-profit, government, academia) are eligible.

​

  • Self-nominations are welcome.

​

Nomination & Selection Process

​

  • An online nomination portal will be made available to the public. Nominators will be asked to provide detailed information about their nominee, including a biography, a letter of recommendation, and a summary of their work and impact.

​

  • A diverse and esteemed committee of leaders in the fields of public health, healthcare, and community advocacy will be assembled to review all nominations. The committee will be comprised of seasoned professionals with deep expertise in health equity.

​

  • The review committee will select the top 40 individuals who best embody the spirit and criteria of the award.

​

  • Honorees will be publicly announced via a press release, featured on our official website, and highlighted across our social media channels. Each honoree will receive a personalized plaque and a formal letter of recognition for their achievements.
